Writing together, and keeping what was written

Pads for a project's members, on Etherpad, and an archive when the work ends.

When a few people work on something together, they write together: notes from a meeting, a plan, a first draft. Too often that happens in someone's Google Doc, and is gone when the work ends.

paramira.org's projects now have pads. They are written live by several people at once, on Etherpad, an open-source editor. Each project has its own pads, and only its members open them. When the work is done, the project is closed: every pad is kept, with who wrote what and when, for five years.

The pads have an address of their own, and they load nothing from other sites. We say plainly what that can't change: whoever runs the pads server can read the pads. For writing nobody else should read, the community apps are the place.
